“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
One early fall Sunday morning, a group of beautiful ladies in white dresses with blue stoles from St. Augustine's Episcopal Church visited the parish of The Church of Epiphany and St. Simon. Their warm welcomes and friendly manner sparked the curiosity of one young lady, and she made it her duty to find out who they were and how can she be apart. After speaking with the Assistant VP of Mothers’ Union U.S.A., Evelyn Alleyne, she was informed that in order to join the group she would have to establish a chapter within her parish. Nervous but determined, she reached out to various members of the parish to see if they were interested in joining her on this journey. After weeks of persuading, discussions and the blessing of the Priest, the group decided they would move forward and take the next steps necessary to becoming an established chapter. Under the guidance of Ms. Alleyne, eight months later, on Sunday, June 28th, 2015, the Church of Epiphany and Saint Simon’s Mothers’ Union Chapter was established.
Currently, the chapter has twelve installed members, and over a dozen honorary members.
With each day, the chapter is looking to grow both in membership and spirituality, as well as being more involved with the community and the church.
